This year, Acoufelt introduced Wellhub, an app offering resources like gym memberships and mental wellness tools to its employees as part of our broader initiative to promote well-being. With 90% of employees signing up, it was clear that self-care is a priority for our team.
Building on that momentum, we elevated our wellness initiatives this September by hosting our first-ever step challenge. Eight teams competed in the month-long race, collectively aiming for 7.3 million steps. Participants were also encouraged to hit 30k steps weekly. True to the Acoufelt competitive spirit, our team surpassed the 7.3 million step goal by September 20, logging an incredible 10.5 million steps by month’s end. That’s the equivalent of walking from Auburn Hills, MI, to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The competition was fierce, with both prizes and bragging rights up for grabs. Our top three finishers—Tyler Boehme with 488k steps, Sandra Miko with 484k steps, and Willian Juarez with 467k steps—each went above and beyond in the challenge.
“This event was about more than competition. It was also about connection,” said Sandra Miko, Executive Assistant at Acoufelt. “While my team won the challenge, there is one employee that stands out and is a big winner in my book. Sandee Howard stepped over 35,000 steps in one day!”
At Acoufelt, we know that a strong team is built on the well-being of each individual. That’s why we launched an employee step challenge—an inclusive way to bring our team together and prioritize health. In a fast-paced world, it’s easy to forget how small steps can make a big difference.
Research highlights the benefits of regular physical activity, from boosting productivity and enhancing mental clarity, to strengthening team collaboration. Walking, in particular, is a simple yet powerful way to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and build both physical and mental resilience. It’s an accessible way for everyone to prioritize their health, no matter their fitness level.
At Acoufelt, we see wellness as a cornerstone of our success. Whether it’s through initiatives like our step challenge or ongoing access to wellness resources, we’re committed to creating a workplace where every employee can thrive. We look forward to continuing our journey toward a happier, healthier future.
